CAPE Systems provides software and related support services that optimize
the flow of products and information through the supply chain. With the advent
of RFID as a next-generation logistics technology, CAPE has positioned itself
to help drive the adoption of radio tagging as a common supply-chain technology. In
association with Open Terra, CAPE is now providing middleware solutions that enable
connectivity to existing enterprise systems and utilizes an assortment of Intel-based
hardware that ranges from Intel® Itanium® and Intel Xeon® processor-based
servers, to client machines based on Pentium® 4 processors and Intel Centrino
mobile technology, as well as handhelds based on Intel XScale® technology
through their participation in the Intel Early Access Program. CAPE Systems
and Open Terra have collaborated to create the 15,000-square-foot Northeast RFID
Test and Integration Center in South Plainfield, New Jersey. The facility includes
a classroom environment, as well as a hands-on demonstration center that provides
live demonstrations of emerging RFID technologies and platforms. The facility
simulates a real-world warehouse and includes the latest computer and RFID locator
test equipment. The focus of the center moves beyond simply providing information
that adopters can tailor to their own needs. It also provides a fully dedicated
education center to support specific implementations, as well as test-bed facilities
where engineers can try out technologies on various platforms. Some features/offerings
of the facility are: Facilities and Equipment:
- 2 Dock doors for shipping and receiving tests
